This is an original photograph taken by my father Alfie, and I know very little about the image. However, my father was based at RAF Snaith during WW2 and I think that this picture was probably taken at RAF Linton on Ouse. The Aircraft I think could be EM-P attached to 207 Squadron RAF. The nearest I could date this is 1944. The 6½ litre Bentley, registration PK 9450, belonged to a friend of my fathers who only owned it for a short period of time. I have found other pictures on the internet that are very similar to this. So there is a possibility that there were other photographers there at the time. I’m not sure if this was an operational aircraft when this photograph was taken, as there does not appear to be any armaments visible in the front turret. I know that my father had the use of this car on a couple of occasions, one trip was to Bridlington with my mother. The Bentley now lives in the USA. It was, in 2012, at Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan. My father was a photographic journalist and copywriter after the war, so maybe there was some other media tie up. The mystery will have to remain there. Unless you know who owned the Bentley 1944 to 1945 ish. I really hope you enjoy this displayed on your wall.
