The Lancaster is an original photograph taken by my father Alfie. The location is unknown, however, it is either Lincolnshire or East Yorkshire taken between 1943 and 1944. In the foreground is a recent picture of the Memorial to 158 Squadron Lissett. The memorial proudly stands next to a wind farm, adjacent to the old RAF airfield on Gransmoor Road, Lissett. (Just off the A165 to Bridlington). The memorial is a tribute to all of the airmen who lost their lives in the conflict. The memorial was designed by Peter Naylor who won the Marsh Award in 2010 for Excellence in Public Sculpture. The sculpture was developed by Nova Energy. I have used photoshop to create this atmospheric image by merging the two images together, to create my own tribute to all of those brave airman. I really hope you enjoy your purchase. A small photographic image of a poppy has been added. Totally original artwork created by me, Charlie Poole Image size A3 Supplied on a Satin Photographic paper, SRA3 = Size 330mm x 483mm.
